Family First – Employee Flood Relief Efforts

During the days of  October 19th to the 21st there was catastrophic flooding across many communities in the East and Central Trinidad.

The ANSA McAL Group  came together to deal with the aftermath of destruction and despair by rallying around employees who were affected.  Our focus right now is getting the lives of our people back on track” – Andrew Sabga – ANSA McAL’s Chief Executive Officer

Encouraged by the Executive Chairman, Mr A. Norman Sabga; CEO, Mr Andrew Sabga; HR Director, Ms Teresa White and other Executives, Sector Heads, MDs and GMs, our HR and Corporate Communications Teams established contact with approximately 1000 employees as of Saturday 20th October 2018.

Care packages were assembled, and mattresses purchased over a very short period of time were available for collection or was distributed by Tuesday 23rd October 2018.

The ANSA McAL HSE Team lead by Nixon Gangoo shouldered the responsibility of logistics for this exercise and they hit the ground running!

Whilst the Group supported the relief efforts by contributing some of our own products, we are receiving calls from our ANSA McAL Family who wish to make their own donation of relief items:

• CLEANING SUPPLIES
• BABY & INFANT SUPPLIES
• NON-PERISHABLE FOOD
• FIRST AID ITEMS
• PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS
• MATCHES/CANDLES/FLASHLIGHTS
• PAPER PRODUCTS AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

Donations will be accepted at All STANDARD DISTRIBUTORS Stores across Trinidad and Tobago as well as Alstons Shipping Ltd, Building #10, ANSA McAL Centre, Uriah Butler Highway & Endeavour Road, Chaguanas between the hours of 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. This started from Monday 22nd October 2018.
