Mr. A. Norman Sabga is the Group Chairman of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies. He is the eldest son of the late Dr. Anthony N. Sabga and has two brothers and two sisters. He is married to Alma Sabga and has five children.

Mr. Sabga is part of the legacy of the ANSA McAL Group which was founded over one hundred and thirty years ago in 1881. The Group has operations that stretch from Florida to Guyana and is the largest and most diversified conglomerate in the Caribbean,

The Group is engaged in Manufacturing, Brewing, Packaging, Insurance, Finance and Merchant Banking, Media, Trading & Distribution, Retail, Real Estate Development, Shipping Services and in Automotive and Industrial Equipment. The Group employs approximately 6,000 people.

The ANSA McAL Group is traded on the T&T Stock Exchange and has a Market cap of 10.5 billion $TT at Dec 2017.

Having received his early education in Trinidad and Tobago at St. Andrew’s Private School and at Mount St. Benedict College, Norman Sabga then attended Red Rice College in the United Kingdom and Fordham University in the United States of America. Upon his return to Trinidad, he joined the family business working at Standard Distributors Limited. Over the years he served as Chairman, Managing Director and Director of several of the Group’s Companies. Through his career Norman Sabga has been actively associated with several business institutions in the fields of Trade and Industry.
In October 2015 the Executive Chairman of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies – Mr. A. Norman Sabga was the recipient of a Doctor of Laws Degree, Honoris Causa, from the University of the West Indies and was also awarded a second honorary Doctor of Law from the University of Trinidad and Tobago in October of 2019.

He holds firm to his conviction that determination to succeed and enthusiasm for embracing challenges are often the critical factors for success. Norman Sabga is unwavering in his adherence to the Group’s Core Values. He considers strategic planning, regular performance monitoring and integrity in the conduct of business, as absolute essentials, together with respect and reward for the views and accomplishments of his colleagues.

Norman Sabga maintains the commitment to continued social upliftment everywhere the Group operates and has preserved the legacy on which the ANSA McAL Foundation was established many years ago.

Anthony N Sabga III is the Chief Executive Officer of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies and the Chairman of the Caribbean Development Company. Having completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics at City University, United Kingdom, in 2001, Anthony began his career with the Group at Trinidad Publishing Company (now Guardian Media Ltd) as the Promotions and Circulations Manager. In 2002, Anthony returned to the United Kingdom to pursue his Masters in International Business Administration at Regents Business School, which he completed in 2003. Upon his return to Trinidad, Anthony took up the role of an Executive at Head Office and was responsible for Strategic Development of the Group’s IT Infrastructure, as well as the introduction of the Balanced Score Card and Strategic Management Frameworks. He went on to hold positions of General Manager at Classic Motors and President of Carib Beer USA. After several different roles throughout the Group, Anthony returned to ANSA McAL’s Head Office in Trinidad and Tobago in 2010. Anthony has held several directorships both within and external to the ANSA McAL Group.

Andrew Sabga is the Group Deputy Chairman of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies and the Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Parent Board and ANSA McAL Barbados. He was the CEO of the ANSA McAL Group from August 2017 to December 2019 and Beverage Sector Head from May 2007 to November 2015. In March 2020 Mr. Andrew Sabga took over the chairmanship of the ANSA McAL Foundation from his brother, Mr Norman Sabga, who remains the patron of the Anthony N Sabga Caribbean Awards for Excellence. He has over 25 years of industry experience in the Manufacturing Sector of the Group, having previously held senior managerial positions and directorships at CARIB Brewery Limited, CARIB Glassworks Limited, Caribbean Development Co. Limited and Trinidad Match Limited. Mr. Sabga was the former Chairman of Alstons Marketing Co. Limited, Caribbean Development Co. Limited, CARIB Brewery Limited, Grenada Breweries Limited, CARIB Brewery (St. Kitts & Nevis) Limited, DCI Miami, ANSA McAL (US) Inc and CARIB Glassworks Limited. He is a Director of ANSA McAL Limited and was the President of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce from 2011 to 2013. He holds an MBA, Marketing from the University of Miami and a B.Sc. in Business Administration (Marketing/Finance) from Boston University.

David B. Sabga is Deputy Chairman of ANSA McAL Limited. He is also a member of the Executive Committee. He holds a BA (Economics) from Windsor University, Canada. David previously held Chairmanships at Standard Equipment, Crown Industries Limited and Farmhouse Industries prior to joining the Group in 1988.

Teresa White is the Group Human Resource Director for the ANSA McAL Group of Companies. She has extensive experience of strategic human resource management, organisational transformation and change management. She joined the Group’s Parent Board of Directors on June 15th, 2017 as a Non-Executive Director and in January 2011 she assumed the Executive role of Group HR Director. In the 10 years prior to this, she successfully led her own independent regional consulting practice and her client base spanned the energy, financial, professional services and telecommunication sectors. Ms. White has a BA (Hons) in Politics from Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London and an MSc (Econ) from the London School of Economics & Political Science, University of London.

Ray A. Sumairsingh became a Chartered Banker (ACIB) in 1975, after completing studies in London, UK. In 1982, he achieved his MBA in Finance, while working in New York, USA. His early career covered banking in Trinidad and Tobago, London and Wall Street, NYC. His career continued in Life, Pensions, Property and Casualty Insurance for the next fifteen years. In his role as a Senior Executive in Insurance, he also served as a Director of the Association of Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Companies (ATTIC) for over twenty years, as well as President for four (4) separate terms. He also served on the Board of the Insurance Association of the Caribbean (IAC) for several years, including two (2) years as President. In 2000, he joined the ANSA McAL Group and holds several directorships in the ANSA McAL Group, including the Parent Board since 2001. Mr. Sumairsingh has been a Director of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange for the past eight (8) years and is currently serving his second term as Chairman.

Mark J. Morgan joined the Firm – Fitzwilliam, Stone, Furness-Smith & Morgan as a Partner in 1986 and was appointed as Head of Litigation in 1998. He maintains a thriving litigation practice as an Advocate and appears before all the local Courts. He has also acted as an arbitrator in commercial disputes. Mark’s practice focuses on the business law aspects relating to the establishment and operation of large commercial and industrial undertakings in Trinidad and Tobago, ranging from Government negotiations, fiscal incentives, oil and gas transactions, alternative dispute resolution, litigation and taxation. Mark is an avid contributor to various legal publishers. He is a former correspondent for the Business Guardian and has published articles on tax for the Centre of Legal Studies, Salzburg, Austria and on civil procedure in the Lawyer, the publication of the Trinidad and Tobago Law Association. He was also the consultant to the Trinidad and Tobago section of Carter-Ruck on Libel & Slander 4th ed. and has authored and co-authored articles on Trinidad and Tobago law for various other publications. He is listed in Band 1 of the Chambers Global, The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Mark holds an LLB from the University of Liverpool and attended the Inns of Court, School of Law (London) where he qualified as a Barrister.

Anthony E. Phillip, is the Chairman of West Indian Tobacco. He was the Managing Director/Deputy Chairman prior to his retirement in 2006, after 33 years of service at West Indian Tobacco. During this period, he completed secondments to British American Tobacco, Kenya and British American Tobacco, Malawi where he held the position of Chairman and Managing Director. Anthony began his career as an Industrial Chemist at Caroni Limited, holds an Executive MBA (UWI) and has had substantial training and work experience in Reputation Management, Corporate Social Reporting, in addition to core disciplines of Consumer Marketing and Operations Management.

Larry Howai is a former Minister of Finance and the Economy (July 2012 – September 2015) who has had a long and distinguished career in the financial services sector. Prior to joining the Cabinet of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Larry was Chief Executive Officer of the First Citizens Group, one of the largest financial institutions in the English speaking Caribbean. He is credited with having turned around the institution, which was a merger of three failed financial institutions, and converting it into one of the best rated financial institutions in the English speaking Caribbean. He served as Chairman of the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago and Chairman of the National Energy Corporation and has held a number of other Board appointments in the financial services and energy sectors both locally and regionally. He is currently the Special Services Advisor in the Financial Services Sector of the ANSA McAL Group, as well as a Director of ANSA McAL, ANSA Merchant Bank Ltd, Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Limited (TATIL), TATIL Life Assurance Limited, Allied Hotels Limited and Allied Innkeepers Limited. He completed his BSc in Economics at the University of the West Indies in 1978, later qualified as a Certified Management Accountant. Mr. Howai was recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of the University of the West Indies in 2010, and has also received the Award of Excellence, Caribbean Association of Indigenous Banks in 2008. He became an Honorary Fellow, Institute of Banking of Trinidad and Tobago in 2004 and was honoured as the Most Admired Chief Executive Officer in Trinidad and Tobago in 2003.

David Dulal-Whiteway is a career banker with over 25 years experience in the Banking Industry. He became an Executive Director of Republic Bank Ltd in 1997 and Managing Director in 2005, a position he held until his retirement in February 2016. David has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, Canada and completed his BSc in Management Studies at the University of the West Indies. He is a Director of HFC Bank Ghana, a subsidiary of Republic Bank, and is the Chairman of FEEL an NGO.

Winston Singh

ANSA McAL Limited was pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Winston Singh to its Board of Directors effective June 1, 2020.

Mr. Singh was recently appointed a Senior Director of LinkedIn Corp. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Microsoft) based in Sunnyvale, California. He leads a global organization that helps small and mid-size companies connect with their customers and advertise on LinkedIn.

Before LinkedIn, Mr. Singh spent almost 12 years at Google Inc.. As a director of sales strategy and operations at Google Inc., he led a global organization that helped businesses to grow by leveraging online marketing. Before joining Google, he spent a decade at various start-ups and ADP Inc., a Fortune 250 firm.

Mr. Singh holds an MBA in Strategic Marketing from the Indian School of Business, a M.Sc. in Information Systems from Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey and a B.Sc. in Computer Science, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.

A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Winston grew up in Carapichaima and attended Presentation College in Chaguanas. He is an avid supporter of T&T and West Indies cricket.

Mr. Singh was also a member of the Board of Directors of Guardian Media Limited, a subsidiary of the ANSA McAL Group and a publicly listed company on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange from August 2017-June 2020 .
