COST ACCOUNTANT


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Analyse monthly manufacturing variances – material purchase price variances, raw materials usage variance, as well as labour and overheads variances

  2. Analyse finished goods and WIP reports and reconcile inventory movements

  3. Analyse production reports and review inputs of raw materials against yield and wasteage with a view to identifying leakages and highlighting areas for action and cost reduction

  4. Analyse monthly consumption of fuel, electricity, and spares

  5. Maintain Costing Model and analyse bill of materials

  6. Review moulding product pricing quarterly and submit to marketing

  7. Review all film costings prepared by Accounts Assistant

  8. Attend weekly film and moulding SOP Meetings

  9. Organise and control monthly, quarterly and year end stock counts of finished goods, raw materials, and WIP, including investigation of variances and reconciliations with sub-ledger

  10. Organise and control monthly cycle counts for spares

  11. Close inventory sub-ledgers and review reconciliation to GL monthly

  12. Review inventory aging and obsolescence reports for Raw Materials and Finished Goods

  13. Provide audit schedules required for auditors

  14. Ensure proper inventory procedures are being followed as directed by Group Policies and Procedures

  15. Provide support in the preparation of the annual Business Plan – Standard cost of Finished Goods, manufacturing overheads, inventory levels

  16. Senior Business Analyst role during the ERP implementation Project – Provide support to document As-IS and TO-BE processes, configure ERP system, extract and convert data

  17. Provide adhoc reports / analyses as required and ensure that monthly reporting deadlines to Head Office are met.  

  18. Supervise and coordinate the work of the Accounts Assistant

  19. Comply with Company policies and procedures

  20. Any other duties as determined by the CFO 

PERSON SPECIFICATION:


Academic / Technical:



  • ACCA, CIMA or B.Sc. in Accounting with a minimum of seven years post graduate experience in a manufacturing environment, three of which must have been at a Supervisory level.

  • Advanced computer proficiency in ERP Software and the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to multitask

  • Excellent time management skills, communication and use of initiative 

  • Working knowledge of Logistics and Warehouse procedures
