 2008 marks the 15th consecutive year that Tatil has been the sponsors of this prestigious tournament, with ANSA Merchant Bank Limited joining as co-sponsors in 2004.

This is the first major tournament for the Year and is considered by many as one of the key events on the Golfing Calendar, as points accumulated in this event will count towards selection on all the Trinidad and Tobago team for the Caribbean Championships later this year.  This tournament is always over subscribed and judging by the overwhelming response by players requesting entry into the tournament, with a final field of approx.120 players, the organizers are always challenged to find a way to accommodate all these requests.

To mark the 15th Anniversary the Sponsorship amount has been increased to $35,000.00.

The 2008 AMBL/Tatil Open will see competition in five (5) categories, Championship, Men’s First Flight, Seniors (Over 50), Super Seniors (Over 60) and Ladies. The tournament tees off at 8 a.m. on Saturday January 12th and ends on Sunday January 13th, 2008.

2007 Champion Alderray Downes will defend his title in the Open category and will start as favourite in the absence of 2006, winner Ben Martin and veteran Carlos Baynes who recently gave up his amateur status. 2007 Ladies Champion Martine De Gannes is now off to Universitiy in the United States and the way is clear for a new Ladies champion.
