ANSA McAL’s HR Orientation – “Success in the ANSA McAL Group is in your hands” – Group CEO, Andrew Sabga

‘Family’ was the theme of this year’s HR Orientation held at the Trinidad Hilton on Friday 25th January, 2019. Ms. Teresa White, Group HR Director, welcomed 157 employees to the ANSA McAL family and in her address reinforced the importance of the ANSA McAL family, and its commitment to its employees. “Family is a great thing, commitment to family in this group is tremendous. It is understanding the obligation of our people and being part of an organization that takes a personal interest in you and what you are going through.” As she ended she told the employees that they should feel a sense of pride to be part of the ANSA McAL Group, “We are a strong company that is standing the test of time when other multi nationals have failed.”

The event was action packed from start to finish, with a new and exciting line up. Guest speaker Mr. Anthony Tang, General Manager of Mc Enearney Motors, discussed the importance of Customer Excellence explaining that customer service not only has the ability to impact the reputation of the company but also of the individual, and that we must all ensure to make every service experience a positive one. Chief Financial Officer of the Beverage Sector, Ms. Leesa Murally spoke on integrity and how it shapes our lives.

One of the new features of this year’s orientation was the ANSA McAL Expo. Different subsidiaries throughout the group set up booths to inform the new employees about the various brands and products that fall under the ANSA McAL umbrella. There was trivia and prizes to be won as well as give aways.

The afternoon session “Questions with the CEO” was the highlight of the day. Group CEO, Mr. Andrew Sabga answered questions from a fishbowl written by employees who attended the orientation. The room was full of laughter as he discussed his youthful run ins with the law and other thrilling life events. The session ended on an inspirational note with him telling employees that their respective companies were their oyster, he promised them that their hard work would be noticed and appreciated and that success within the Group was in their hands.
An energetic performance by Olatunji brought the afternoon to an end, ensuring that all new employees felt that they were part of the ANSA McAL Famalaylaylay!
