On Tuesday 14th June 2011 ANSA McAL Chemicals Limited, manufacturer of chlorine gas and packaged bleach, held its Customer Appreciation Day at Crews Inn, with local and regional customers from Suriname, Guyana, Barbados, Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Vincent in attendance. Most of these customers distribute ANSA McAL Chemicals four bleach brands, Clean & White, Supreme, Trinchloro and Spotless, whilst others have their own brands in their respective markets.
The day began with a musical opening from the “Amantes de Paranda” parang group, who entertained everyone with their “happy music” as was described by one guest. The mood was calming and relaxed for the presentations that followed.
“ANSA McAl Chemicals boasts of having approximately 70% of the total bleach market regionally and 95% of the bleach market locally” says Andy Mahadeo – Managing Director, ANSA McAL Chemicals Limited. “The company is poised for growth in the water treatment services sector as we are closing the name plate gap on our core business of bleach production and distribution.”
A 10min feature video on ANSA McAL Chemicals gave the audience an in-depth look at how bleach is produced and the safety procedures that must be adhered to in the production and packaging of the company’s various products, such as caustic soda, chlorine gas and packaged bleach.
The highlight of the event was a presentation by Rene De Gannes – Managing Director, Alstons Marketing Co. Ltd., on the “Value of Branding”. The presentation was very well received with customers pledging renewed support to brand building activities. ANSA McAL Chemicals Limited’s Director, Wayne Bankay also shared the importance of giving market intelligence feedback to the company so that they can formulate effective brand building strategies as they go forward.

ANSA McAL Chemicals Limited, Chairman and Group Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Gerry Brooks, was delighted to meet with customers and shared the Parent Board’s vision for the company in his closing address. He informed everyone of the formation of a technical sub-committee which would serve to ensure the continuous improvement of quality and operational excellence, he also emphasized that with the investment and introduction of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, there will be synergies in the production, planning, accounting and marketing departments to ensure a seamless service to customers and stakeholders.
In his closing he thanked all customers and stakeholders for their support over the years continuing forward with ENERGY, PASSION and DRIVE.
